Nutrition Counseling is available to individuals living in Texas, where the dietitians are licensed. If you wish to have a consultation with a dietitian in another state, click here.

Nutrition Counseling includes an assessment of your nutritional status and dietary habits. It includes a personalized diet program developed for you based on recommendations from your physician and your laboratory results. This is referred to as Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT).

MNT is comprehensive and includes diet modification and counseling to help you achieve your diet-related goals. It includes helping you handle eating problems, such as eating due to emotions, and handle barriers to making important changes. The initial session and follow-up sessions may be scheduled as office visits or conducted by telephone

With the help of a dietitian, changing your diet to a more healthful way of eating is easier than you think.

The dietitian will review entries you make in the Member Section, particularly the Nutrient Analyzer© and Weight Graph, by making suggestions and comments on your progress.

Certain insurance companies reimburse for Nutrition Counseling with referral from a physician.

Steps for enrolling in Nutritional Counseling:

  1. Print a copy of Referral Form and give it to your physician. Ask him/her to complete the form, and fax to 713-798-6409. Be sure your name, address, telephone number and date of birth are on the form.
